What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies that GeoLocator Technologies Inc (“GeoLocator,” “we”) uses on geolocator.app. These include local storage and session storage, which are small pieces of data your browser keeps for a website. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data more generally.
In short:
- We use a few strictly necessary items to keep you signed in, protect forms and remember your choice.
- We use one preference item, and only after you choose a map style in the dashboard.
- Analytics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) run only if you allow them in the cookie banner, with “Accept analytics” or by turning Analytics on under “Customize” and saving. They do not set cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.
- We do not use advertising cookies or allow advertising trackers.
Strictly necessary
These are needed for features you ask for, such as signing in or submitting a form, so they do not require consent. If you block them, those features may stop working.

These remember a choice you have made, so you don't have to make it again.

Analytics (only with your consent)
These load only after you allow analytics in the cookie banner — with “Accept analytics”, or by turning Analytics on under “Customize” and selecting “Save choices”. If you select “Reject”, or make no choice at all, they do not load. If you turn them off later, the page reloads so they stop straight away.

Map provider (dashboard only)
The dashboard is available only to signed-in users. Its map is provided by Mapbox, and Mapbox's map library stores the items below in your browser. They are currently set whenever the dashboard map loads and are not controlled by the cookie banner. You can remove them by clearing the site's storage, as described below. Mapbox handles this data under the Mapbox privacy policy.

How to change your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:
- Cookie settings: select “Cookie settings” in the site footer, or use the “Open cookie settings” button below. Either one reopens the cookie banner showing your current choice and when you made it. Switch Analytics on or off and select “Save choices”, or use “Accept analytics” or “Reject”. If you turn analytics off while they are running, the page reloads so they stop straight away.
- Clear the site's storage: clearing cookies and site data for geolocator.app in your browser removes your saved choice. Analytics then stop loading, and the banner asks again on your next visit. This also signs you out and removes your map-style preference.
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data, block third-party cookies, or browse privately. Your browser's help pages explain how. Blocking strictly necessary items may stop sign-in and forms from working.
Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage: cookie-consent holds “accepted” or “declined”, and cookie-consent-record notes whether you allowed analytics, the version of the cookie notice you answered and when you decided. Both stay in your browser until you change your choice or clear its storage.
Withdrawing consent stops analytics from loading from then on. It does not affect data collected before you withdrew.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies or storage we use change, and we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top.
